AEE and Heli-One share a long-standing collaboration, including the delivery of our robust infrared-based headset systems – developed to meet the toughest demands of special mission and offshore operations or the Electronic Float Activation System (EFAS).

In the beginning of July, our Accountable Manager Lukas Hamm-Riff, Director of Engineering Nils Schlautmann and Management Trainee Marie-Sophie Turek visited Heli One at Stavanger Airport, the world’s largest helicopter support company specialized in modification maintenance, repair and overhaul.

We had the pleasure of meeting Ole Kyrre Brænd, Head of Design and Stig Berg (Chief of Office of Airworthiness) at Heli-One (Norway) AS, for a productive exchange around engineering and quality standards. We also met Terje Thomassen (Supervisor Avionics), Jim Johnsen (Team Lead Avionic Workshop), Janne Eike and Marie Johansen (both Supply Chain) for interesting discussions.

AEE and Heli-One share a long-standing collaboration, including the delivery of our robust infrared-based headset systems – developed to meet the toughest demands of special mission and offshore operations or the Electronic Float Activation System (EFAS).

The partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to technical precision, certified reliability, and safety-first solutions that keep complex systems not only in the air, but also in top condition.

A warm thank you to the entire Heli-One team for the kind welcome and the insightful hangar tour with a stop at the avionics shop where our products are maintained.

AEE extends and expands contract with Airbus Helicopters until 2036

The German avionics specialist AEE Aircraft Electronic Engineering GmbH will remain the supplier of TETRA radio systems for Airbus Helicopters in Germany for the next 10 years.

It will now also supply Airbus Helicopters in France. AEE Managing Director Phillipp Volz and Lukas Hamm-Riff, AEE accountable manager EASA Part 21G & Part 145, have now signed the corresponding contract for the extension and expansion of the cooperation until 2036.

AEE has been the sole supplier of radio systems for Airbus Helicopters in Germany for around 20 years: the radios are installed in a helicopter control unit, and the associated control panels are installed in the cockpit.

The radio systems supplied by AEE are used, for example, in helicopters for government agencies.

“This system, with Tetra radio as the standard for digital radio traffic, is simply stable and has been successfully approved in the helicopters,” said Hamm-Riff. “We are pleased that we can continue to serve the segment with one of our top-selling products. Our supplier relationship with Airbus Helicopters began with the radio systems. We are now also developing the IdFX mission computer and SNAF for secure military radio communications for the customer.”
